The prevalence of asthma and allergic diseases has increased since the early 1960s, in particular in industrialised countries, with the rise in asthma occurring among both children and adults. Regardless of definitions, asthma and allergies are a major public health problem.

ERS Conference in Vienna, Austria
The asthma and allergy group will hold an evaluation workshop in connection with the ERS conference in Vienna, Austria, 12-16 Sept. 2009.

The goal of the evaluation is to evaluate scientist’s ability to assess the health risks of climate change, with a specific focus on how climate change could impact on asthma, allergies and
respiratory disease. The objective is to identify areas of high and low knowledge quality and determine the policy and research implications thereof.
